Angelina Is Pregnant Again!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt apparently weren't kidding when they said they wanted to have nine, or thirteen, or however many kids it was the last time they went on about how much they love parenting in an interview. Both biologically and otherwise, the world's most beautiful couple are multiplying like rabbits.

Shortly after formally adopting son Pax, La Jolie debuted her baby bump last night (the very same night she was scheduled to be in the same room with Jennifer Aniston for the first time in three years -- burn!!!). So I thought I'd take a peep at her horoscope, which we haven't done in quite some time.

This period of time definitely feels like it is a turning point for Angelina. Transiting Jupiter is opposing Saturn and squaring her natal Moon-Mars-Jupiter conjunction, all in cardinal signs. See Angelina Jolie's birth chart (Astrotheme)

Jupiter brings expansion and growth, figuratively and sometimes literally. Right now it is activating the natal Moon-Jupiter aspect that gives Angie her almost boundless maternal urges. Don't be surprised to see her throw herself into nesting mode.

With Saturn in the picture, there is also an increase in responsibilities and challenges. Particularly if the rumor she is expecting twins turns out to be true, even Hollywood's finest Supermom will certainly have her hands full wth such a rapidly expanding brood.

Interestingly, transiting Mercury in mass-media-oriented Aquarius is almost exactly sextile Angie's natal Mars, while transiting Mars in Gemini has just passed over her natal Mercury. These two aspects make me wonder if there was in fact a passive-aggressive tinge of hostility toward Jen in the timing of the visual "announcement." Certainly it took all the attention away from her and their anticipated confrontation, and one would imagine Jennifer wasn't exactly relieved.

All suggestion of cattiness aside, congratulations to the Jolie-Pitts -- and best wishes for a baby that is happy, healthy, and half as cute as Shiloh!

Angelina Jolie's 2007 Birthday Forecast

What does the coming year hold for Angelina Jolie, who turns 32 on June 4? The actress has been through a lot of ups and downs in the past year, from the death of her mother to the addition of two new little ones to the family. Now she says she'll take time off ... but is that really in the stars for this overachiever?

I took a look at Angelina's solar return chart, a birthday horoscope that represents the coming year, to find out. And if anything, it appears she'll spend 2007 in an even more glaringly bright spotlight -- which could threaten her relationship with Brad Pitt. See Angelina Jolie's 2007 solar return chart (Exclusive to CelebAstroBlogy.com)

In her solar return chart for the year, Angelina's natal 11th house, representing public perceptions of her, her media image, and her fame, comes to the Ascendant, suggesting this year will be dominated by that aspect of her life, as opposed to her private role as a mother and, er, life partner. The SR (solar return) Sun is in the 1st house of the SR chart, reinforcing the idea that Angie will be very much out in the open, rather than under the radar, this year.

That said, family relationships will definitely also be important to our Ange this year, as signified by her SR Venus in Cancer being just half a degree away from its own return to its natal position, which is on the natal Ascendant. See Angelina Jolie's birth chart (Astrotheme) Angelina's maternal, domestic, caring urges will certainly be a priority for her this year, as well as her career.

But there could be some fraying in the fabric of this domestic life. The SR Sun is opposite Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 7th house of relationships, and Uranus in Pisces in the SR 11th house forms a T-square. Jupiter in Sag could represent her double-Sagittarius partner Brad, with his urge to expand and develop their relationship; but Uranus in Pisces in the 11th house suggests that the allure of fame--no matter how much she might publicly shun it--is a force pulling Angelina away from the relationship.

Moreover, SR Mars in assertive, independent Aries is on Angelina's natal Jupiter, triggering her inborn itch to grow and expand by striking out on a new path on her own. She will be adventurous as ever (expect to see more plane flying, if not race car driving, walking across hot coals, and so forth) and definitely restless.

Given all that, plus Angelina's solar return Saturn opposite Brad's natal Saturn, could she be delivering a tough lesson to him this year? See Brad Pitt's birth chart (Astrotheme)

Actually, their relationship is looking more solid than not. Angelina's SR Moon in Saturn-ruled Capricorn exactly conjuncts Brad Pitt's natal Moon (within 04" of a degree). Emotionally, they will be very much in synch this year, and dedicated to the Capricornian values of long-term planning, stability and structure. Seen in this light, the Saturn opposition could also act as a binding force, reinforcing their connection rather than putting stress on it.

Ultimately, I don't see Brangelina splitting this year ... but the relatively pragmatic, unromantic Capricorn Moons could hint that they are sticking it out and making it work for the sake of a stable parental structure for the kids, rather than due to their passionate feelings for each other. Angie may still need a new outlet to act out.

{Astro-methodology note: This year I have opted to calculate Angie's SR chart for New Orleans, LA, where she and Brad have settled (by their standards, anyway) with their kids. Since she says she plans to take time off to be a mom, and Maddox has reportedly been enrolled in school in New Orleans, this is the closest thing to a stable home base Angelina has established.}

Another Baby for Angelina?

The proverbial mill is abuzz with rumors that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will adopt a fourth child in India, where they are currently filming, or perhaps even have another biological child.

Jupiter entered Angelina's 5th house of offspring on October 24. Associated with both expansion and good fortune, Jupiter can augur a pregnancy when it moves to this house. With the number of planets in Scorpio about to pass through Angie's 5th house in the next month, this area of her life will be strongly highlighted; if she doesn't already have the overpowering urge for another child, she will soon. See Angelina Jolie's birth chart (Astrotheme)

Given the immediacy of the transits through Angelina's 5th house, and the Scorpio emphasis suggestive of power machinations and negotiations, my guess would be that an adoption, not a biological birth, is in the works. Angelina and Brad may be working behind the scenes to pull some strings and expedite the adoption process. The only catch is, with Mercury retrograding through Scorpio (currently sitting on the cusp of Angie's 5th house, about to backslide into her 4th house of family and home), there is a high likelihood that the paperwork could hit some snags. The kinks will not be worked out and the adoption not finalized at least until December 5th, when then-direct Mercury has emerged from its retrograde shadow and once again crossed the cusp of Angelina's 5th house.

Meanwhile, Mercury and Jupiter are in Brad's 12th house of secrets and self-undoing. Is he harboring hidden fears about bringing a new child into the family? Transiting retrograde Uranus is directly conjunct Brad's natal Chiron, suggesting that the upheaval and sense of chaos in his life may be opening up some old wounds. See Brad Pitt's birth chart (Astrotheme) A self-destructive side of Brad could come out now if he does not find healthy outlets for his emotions and speak up about how he really feels. As Neptune creeps up to a conjunction with his Saturn, there is a strong urge to gloss over realities that he would rather not face. It may be easier for Brad to pretend he is living in a Hollywood fairy tale than to engage with what is really happening in his life.

With his natal Jupiter in Aries in the 4th house, Brad is definitely the type of person who's down with impulsively adding people to his household the way other people pick up souvenirs on vacation. But with all his Sagittarius and Capricorn planets, Brad is also very driven and focused on his own goals and dreams. Giving so much emotional energy in so many realms of his life may be wearing Brad down; does he possess the psychic reserves to care for yet another child so soon after the birth of Shiloh? Hopefully Jupiter's Thanksgiving entry into Sagittarius will provide a sort of second wind, renewing Brad's natural Sag optimism and enthusiasm for life, whatever it brings.

Of course, if Angelina and Brad do bring home a new tot from India, you can be sure that CelebAstroBlogy will post the birth chart as soon as data is available and let you know how the kid fits into his or her new family. Watch this space!

The Mysterious Disappearance of Angelina Jolie

A hush has descended over the celebrosphere as of late. There seems to be a strange void at the center of the galaxy of stars. Despite the best efforts of Mel Gibson and Lindsay Lohan to entertain us with their career-destroying antics, Hollywood suddenly feels hollow. Why, you ask? Well, duh, it's because the ace in the deck of the A-list's major arcana, Miss Angelina Jolie, is mysteriously missing from the scene. She seems to have sequestered herself and her children in their Malibu home, emerging only for brief glimpses and never with the paparazzi holy grail that is baby Shiloh.

What is going on here? Have photographers killed the goose that laid the golden eggs? Is Angie headed into a bizarre new hermetic phase? Will we soon be seeing Maddox and Zahara veiled, Brad riding llamas around the estate and Shiloh being dangled off balconies?

Or, perhaps worse, are the rumors of mounting Brangelina tension reported by In Touch true? The mag claims in its August 14, 2006 issue that the strain of raising the kids is taking its toll on the couple. Angie allegedly hates Malibu and is pissed at Brad for (horrors) going to work during the day.

Since I don't think I could withstand the traumatic psychological impact of a Brangelina breakup—or an Angie breakdown—I felt compelled to check out her chart and find out exactly what is going on within that mercurial Gemini mind.

Curently Uranus in Pisces is semisextiling her Moon, slightly raising Angelina's tension level as she copes with the unpredictable ups and downs of motherhood, and squaring her Sun, shaking up her sense of herself and possibly impelling her to break free of convention (what else is new, with her?) and question her own assumptions about who she is. She may be shaken by the depth of feeling (Pisces) she has for her children (Moon) and wondering what it means for her as an autonomous being (Sun).

But as this transit works itself out, why has it manifested in Angelina's keeping herself under wraps? Well, right now Angelina is keeping on the down-low tip because she has been at a natural ebb in her annual energy cycle, with the personal planets passing through her 12th house. The 12th house is all about being under the radar; it is traditionally associated with confinement, sometimes even hospitalization or imprisonment; in Angelina's case, she may indeed feel that she is a prisoner because the paparazzi are waiting whenever she steps outside her house. Mars (representing one's M.O.) entered her 12th house on April 10, which was right around the time she and Brad sequestered themselves in Africa to await Shiloh's birth.

Mars has since left the 12th house, but it has been followed by a steady stream of planets transiting through there. The Sun entered her 12th house on June 19 and has since moved into her 1st house of identity, where it is currently conjoining stern, repressive Saturn in Leo, the sign of fame and attention—again, emphasizing the theme of reevaluation of her identity.

Mercury, a strong influence on the chart as the ruler of Angelina's Gemini Sun, first entered the 12th house on June 2, crossed the Ascendant on June 26 and then retrograded back into the 12th on July 13. This signifies a period of introspection and withdrawal from the world as Angelina has sought to be alone with her thoughts and reevaluate what she thinks of all the recent events in her life. Currently, Mercury has moved into a conjunction with Angelina's natal 12th-house Venus and is trailed by transiting Venus, which has just conjuncted natal Saturn. Both these conjunctions suggest that Angelina is taking stock of her relationships, as well as analyzing and reflecting on the role she plays in them. She may feel the need to withdraw now in order to gain some perspective. I don't see her wanting to break it off with Brad now (whew), just needing to take some time out for herself to clear her mind.

Mercury will leave the 12th house to cross Angelina's Ascendant for the last time this year on August 10, right around the time of her Venus return, when Venus conjuncts its natal position in the 12th house before going on to cross her Ascendant on the 11th. This may crystallize some of the lessons Angelina has learned about herself and her intimate relationships during this 12th-house-emphasis period. She may be more mindful now of her 12th-house/Piscean tendency to give away too much of herself to those she loves or even be self-destructive for a relationship (vials of blood, anyone?). When the planetary focus shifts to her 1st house, Angelina will be just about ready to emerge from her cocoon and show herself to the world once again. With that Uranus-Sun square, she may even go out of her way to shock the public with a daring shift of gears, just to prove something to herself.

So take heart—less than a week from now, Angelina may well re-emerge in the public sphere to reclaim her rightful crown as Hollywood's Queen of Swords and Queen of Cups rolled into one. I, for one, can't wait!

Shiloh's Birth Time Controversy

This type of thing is the reason we astrologers drink so heavily. As recent readers know, Celeb AstroBlogy has reported extensively on the birth of the millenium, that of one Miss Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, including an initial interpretation of her horoscope and update with her rising sign. But the brand-new daughter of media-shy Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has a big question mark around her birth data thanks to discrepancies in reporting.

In Touch reports that "Shiloh was born on May 28 at 1:40 a.m. local time (which was May 27 at 8:40 p.m. EST), said the provincial governor," which is consistent with the chart I ran for Shiloh.{Source, PerezHilton.com} But Life & Style asserts that "Angelina Jolie delivered daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in Swakopmund, Namibia, at 1:43 a.m. on May 27." {Source, PerezHilton.com} While somewhat ambiguous as it does not specify what time zone, this would suggest that Shiloh was born a good 24 hours BEFORE the time for which I ran her chart, give or take three minutes.

This is a tough one, but I am inclined to go with the In Touch data, for a few different reasons:

• The fact that In Touch clarifies the date/time zones it is referring to whereas Life & Style is vague and doesn't draw a distinction between U.S. and Namibia time. Um, there's this new thing called the International Date Line, maybe you've heard of it? Gawd.

• The news broke in the U.S. around 9 P.M. on Saturday night, May 27. I know this, because I was home sitting at my computer on the Saturday night of a holiday weekend. Who would make up that alibi?

• And furthermore, why wait until 9 P.M. U.S. time to announce that info to the world? What motive would they have to embargo the info? It's not like they shot an old man in the face or something.

• In the official announcement, Brad's rep said the baby was born "Saturday night." If the baby had been born at 1:40 AM, while technically she would have been born at night and on Saturday, it seems somewhat disingenuous to call that "Saturday night" rather than "early Saturday morning." Then again, these two did pull the "He's a boy and he's my friend but he's not my boyfriend" routine for many months. But celebrities don't usually fake out the press about their babies' due dates after they give birth.

So, my best guess is that Shiloh is Sunday's child, at least in her African homeland. I'd love to hear more evidence one way or the other; for instance, a report time-stamped before the later birth would, obviously, conclusively prove the earlier time to be true. Please send links!

UPDATE: Shiloh's Rising Sign

After a lovely and rare day offline, I was delighted to return this morning to an outpouring of birth data love in my inbox. A world of thanks go out to the several readers who wrote in or posted comments on the birth time of the newest and most exciting celebrity in the world, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. Thanks to the wisdom of the crowd, I can relay that local papers pegged Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter's time of birth as 1:40 AM local time on Sunday, though the time was reported initially as "Saturday night" here.

While her Moon sign remains the same (Gemini), this new birth time sheds vital light on Shiloh's chart, and provides the crucial detail of a rising sign. Oddly enough, after all the talk of Brangelina's baby as the most hotly anticipated infant since the Christ child, Shiloh's chart actually lives up to the expectations of someone destined to touch the world in karmic ways.

See Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt's birth chart ~ Exclusive to CelebAstroBlogy.com *UPDATED with birth time*

Shiloh has the very last minute of the very last degree of the zodiac, 29°59" Pisces, on her Ascendant (i.e., the point on the horizon at the exact moment she was born). This placement represents the final point in the soul's evolution through the karmic cycle before it begins anew at the zodiac's zero point, 0° Aries. Shiloh appears to be someone who on some level has transcended the bounds of her ego to become one with all of humanity. (Fitting, perhaps, for someone the entire world was obsessed with before she even made her appearance.)

With this ultracompassionate Pisces degree on her Ascendant, Shiloh is born to help the world. Very much like her mother, she may care for the suffering and feel for them as deeply as if they were her own loved ones. The Sabian symbol for Shiloh's Ascendant degree, the zodiac's omega point, is "A majestic rock formation resembling a face idealized by a boy who takes it as his ideal of greatness, and as he grows up, begins to look like it." The keynote of this allegorical image is "The power of clearly visualized ideals to mold the life of the visualizer." It's not hard to see how growing up with the image and inspiration of Angelina's life and work will shape Shiloh's identity and sense of her purpose in life. The North Node, a point in the chart representing one's karmic path or aspiration, is in Aries conjunct the Ascendant, reinforcing the import of this sense of a mission to make a difference as an individual.

The 1:40 AM birth time also places the Gemini Moon in a close conjunction to its ruler, Mercury, showing that Shiloh's thoughts and feelings will be closely linked. The close proximity of the Moon (emotions and one's image of the mother) and Mercury (mindset) to Angelina's Sun (core personality) shows that Shiloh will identify strongly with her mother. Again, her sense of a calling to help humanity will likely be instilled by Santa Angelina.

Pluto (transformation) is in Sagittarius (religion, philosophy, politics, internationalism) on the Midheaven (career goals). Once again, Shiloh seems likely to carry on her mother's work doing good for the world community. Shiloh's Pluto-Midheaven is also on Brad's Sun, which squares her Ascendant, so he does exert some influence on her; she'll be inspired to follow in his footsteps as well.

Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius in the 11th house, and Chiron opposing Saturn in Leo in the 5th, add to the sense that Shiloh will have empathy (Neptune/Pisces) for her downtrodden brothers and sisters around the world (11th house/Aquarius), and work hard (Saturn) to heal them (Chiron).

Angelina has talked of wanting to have a brood of children who "find her" throughout the world, to the point that she was reluctant to give birth to a biological child and miss out on such a connection. But she needn't worry, as her first biological child definitely seems to be an old soul who chose to be born into a family where she could do good for humanity. It will be exciting to watch Shiloh grow up, not only because she may well prove to resemble Angelina uncannily in a physical sense, but to see how she manifests her destiny and makes a difference in the world.

Brangelina's Baby Has Arrived!!!

I almost cannot believe this day has come.

Angelina Jolie has given birth to Brad Pitt's baby, and it is a double-Gemini girl named Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. {Source}

OMG. OMG. OMG.

Maddeningly, Pitt's publicist did not release a birth time, only stated that Shiloh was born "the night of May 27, 2006 in Namibia, Africa." But you better believe I am working on a birth chart; stay tuned for an update SOON.

Will Brad and Angelina Ever Wed?

Reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have arrived in Namibia, Africa, have spurred rumors that Angelina will give birth to the season's most hotly anticipated celebrity baby there. [Source] However, Media-Darling.com's Brangelina bureau has astutely noted that, seeing as how they rented out the whole damn resort, they might actually be planning a wedding in baby Zahara's home continent. As faithful readers know, the baby is reportedly due May 18, and clearly Angelina thinks nothing of flying during pregnancy, so who knows where they could end up by the time of the birth. Hence, I was immediately drawn to the Namibia nuptials hypothesis.

However, upon glancing at their birth charts (Brad Pitt's astrological chart; Angelina Jolie's astrological chart - Astrotheme), I began to have my doubts that this couple will make it to the altar anytime soon. It concerns me that Neptune is passing over a most sensitive point in both Angelina's and Brad's natal charts, and that the rumors about Angelina's reluctance to make an honest woman of Brad could be all too true.

Neptune, the planet of fantasy, illusion and deception, entered Angelina's 7th house of partnership on December 30, 1997, and soon afterward entered Aquarius, the sign of mass media and public perception as well as unconventional, unpredictable behavior. A little over a year later, she divorced actor Jonny Lee Miller [Source] and began her ascendance as a sex symbol, tabloid magnet and crazy-in-love poster child. (Let's not even get into the whole Billy Bob Thornton/vials of blood thing.)

Neptune is now approaching the cusp between Angelina's 7th and 8th houses, the spot in the chart that represents (among other things) the relationship turning point when a partnership deepens and two people become one. With the planet of fantasy and illusion here, Angelina may vacillate between feeling like she's achieved her ideal union with her partner, and worrying that she has deceived herself or is being deceived. There have been many tabloid rumors that even as she and Brad approach the ultimate closeness point of having their first bio-baby together, Angie is tweaking out worrying that he'll abandon her and the kids just as her father, Jon Voight, peaced out when she was a tot. (Not to mention that Billy Bob took off as soon as she adopted Maddox.)

Fittingly, Brad's Saturn, signifying commitment, responsibility and fatherhood, is at 19° Aquarius, a hair away from Angelina's 8th-house cusp and right under transiting Neptune. So indeed it would seem that Neptune is clouding Angie's perception of Brad's ability to be a dad for the long haul -- and quite possibly casting doubt on Brad's belief in his own readiness to assume the paternal mantle. Going from zero to three kids in one year is a lot, especially for a freewheeling double Sagittarius like Brad.

I wish I could say that this uncertainty and lack of clarity clouding Angelina's view will evaporate as soon as those pregnancy hormones switch off. But Neptune will turn retrograde on May 22, a few days after the baby's due date, at 19°49" Aquarius, less than a degree away from Angie's 8th house cusp and Brad's Saturn, as well as sextiling Brad's Sun. (Not to mention that Pluto is retrograding toward his Sun, auguring transformation.) Could the birth of the baby bring a change of heart for one or both of them? Will Angie vent confusing postpartum feelings onto Brad? Will he run out for a quart of soy milk and never return?

We all hope these scenarios do not come to pass and that Brangelina will have many more beautiful children to populate the earth... but honestly, this couple has a long way to go before they can clarify their commitment issues. Neptune, which moves slowly and retrogrades often, is going to be oscillating back and forth over Angie's 8th-house cusp, and Brad's Saturn, for close to two years. Not until January 18, 2008, will Neptune enter Angelina's 8th house for good.

Brad and Angelina obviously have some strong connections, but it will take a lot of work for them to gain complete clarity on their relationship, especially in the glare of the Neptune-in-Aquarius spotlight. No matter what, their outlooks on life will be transformed by the birth of the baby. The challenge for these two changeable mutable signs is to trust enough in their bond to grow together, rather than apart.

Yet Another Angelina Due Date Update

The Brangelina baby watch continues. To recap: The initial reports had her due around her own birthday in early June. Now, after recently reporting a mid-May due date for Angelina Jolie's first biological boobah, Star has gone so far as to peg the date as May 18 in its April 3 issue:

"'The official due date is May 18,' a source close to the Pitts tells Star.... Star consulted numerologist-astrologist Carmen Harra, author of Decoding Your Destiny. Here are her predictions: 'He -- and I'm feeling male energy -- will be extremely creative. He will be handsome and thoughtful, loving and charismatic -- but not overly emotional. His strongest connection will be with his mother.'"

Before we move on to my own reading of the May 18 chart, a few passing comments. First of all, I HATE, HATE, HATE when people refer to astrologers as "astrologists." That would be like a celeb referring to her "styler" or "publicer." Second of all, every astrologer knows you cannot tell gender from a birth chart. Yes, you can pick up on masculine energy, but that could just as easily mean a little baby butch girl -- especially with a badass mama like Angelina. Third of all, way to go foreseeing that a newborn baby's strongest bond will be with its mother. That is some keen predictive power, boy. (Not that I am in any way bitter that the Star did not call me for an expert opinion on a Taurus baby for Brangelina. It's not like I am an expert on Brangelina or Tauruses. But whatever, I'm totally enlightened and so over it.)

Anyhoo, if born on May 18, the Brangelina baby will not necessarily be butch so much as have a nontraditional sense of gender and a refreshingly free interplay of "masculine" and "feminine" traits, what with masculine Mars in nurturing Cancer and feminine Venus in Mars-ruled Aries. Especially if born after 8:00 AM (I'm assuming a birthplace of Paris, France, since the tabloid consensus seems to be that Angie wants her baby born there as opposed to early frontrunners L.A. and Africa) with a progressive, experimental Aquarius Moon, Branjunior/Brangelette would be a nonconformist in terms of gender roles. With a tight Sun-Mercury conjunction in Taurus, mini-Brange would be very bright and, yes, creative. The Jupiter-Uranus trine in water signs contributes to the creativity as well as the progressive mindset. This chart certainly fits the child of two actors who travel the world and adopt children from different cultures, not to mention a mom who is unabashedly bisexual, flies planes at 7+ months pregnant and will probably be squeezing into black leather catsuits within weeks of giving birth.

A May 18 birthday for Brangelissimo would mean Venus on Angelina's Jupiter (and possibly Moon opposite her Venus/Ascendant, depending on birth time) as well as Pluto on Brad Pitt's Sun, signifying how his life and sense of self would be transformed by the baby. (Pluto is slow-moving, so this aspect would be in effect even if the baby is not born right on May 18.) With the Sun-Mercury conjunction in late Taurus trining Brad's Moon-Venus, I actually think the little one might be more connected to Brad (you hear that, Carmen Harra? It's ON!) in the long run. With the baby's Neptune on Brad's Saturn, he would be a doting dad -- the kid could easily charm his/her way out of any kind of discipline or punishment because Brad adores him/her so much.

Of course, even if the Star has obtained the true due date (seems to me celebs often plant fake dates to maintain their privacy around the blessed event), there's no guarantee that Brandene will come into the world as scheduled. (Well, unless they, um, schedule the delivery. They can do that these days.) For instance, the kid could easily pop out a few days earlier with his/her Moon in Sagittarius conjuncting Brad's Sun. But this due date does seem like it's in the ballpark, with the way it depicts Brad's heart being utterly melted, and Angelina feeling blessed (Venus conjunct her Jupiter), by the bambino/a. Needless to say, I will be keeping an ear out for any further due date updates and encourage you to email me if you find any.

Does Brad and Angelina's Wedding Date Draw Nigh?

There have been many rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's wedding date, including the speculation that they may have pulled a Brandy and declared themselves to be "spiritually married," i.e., not really married at all. The latest poop: Oh No They Didn't reports a report in an Italian newspaper reporting that they are reportedly set to wed on March 18 at George Clooney's Lake Como, Italy, home. How does this March 18 date stack up against the power couple's charts?

On March 18, the Moon is in Scorpio, which is in Angelina's 4th house of home and family and Brad's 11th house of friends and acquaintances. Not loving that ... I'd rather see them get married when the Moon is in mid-Sagittarius, in Brad's 1st house of self and Angelina's 5th house of romance, pleasure and, of course, children. I also don't like that in the March 18 chart, the Sun in Pisces squares Brad's Sun, signifying that the marriage could cause him a lot of tension and destabilize his sense of self. But the Sun does trine Angie's Venus, showing that the marriage would jibe with her relationship style and way of doing things. I worry that this chart would depict Angelina having the upper hand, with Brad under presure to conform to her will.

Perhaps this March 18 chart is indeed an accurate reflection of the power dynamic in their relationship; it's not like it's a stretch to see her wearing the pants in the family. (That was not an intentional pun on "stretch pants," as I understand Angie is very sensitive about her pregnancy body.) But if you're reading this, Brad and Ange, consider holding out for that Sagittarian Moon on March 21. I know, I know, who wants to get married on a Tuesday? But at that point, the Sun will have moved into Aries, heralding the beginning of spring and symbolizing the start of new possibilities. Not necessarily the most traditionally romantic sign, but fitting for a fly-around-the-world-picking-up-babies couple like these two. And at least this chart doesn't set in stone the power imbalance between them like a March 18 wedding might. Ah well, we'll see! There are new wedding-date rumors every day, so maybe this will be the one that comes to pass, or maybe not. I hope not, because I think they could find a more auspicious day to set the tone for their marriage.

UPDATE: Angelina Due in May, Star Reports

As faithful readers know, I have been keeping a watch on Angelina Jolie's due date. The last reports had it that she was due in June. Now the March 13 issue of Star is reporting that:

On May 13, a little more than a week before her due date, a source tells Star, she plans to hold a special blessing ceremony for the newest Jolie-Pitt.

Okay, well, if true, that would put her due date at May 21 or later, which would mean her baby will be just barely a Gemini or possibly a Taurus if she gives birth early (the Sun enters Gemini at 12:31 AM EST). Interesting. I kind of hope it's a Taurus, because otherwise little Zahara is going to be the odd man out in this family, as the only earth sign (Capricorn) in a house full of fire (Brad's a Sag, Mad's a Leo) and air (twin Geminis Angelina and the newbie). Although if the baby is a Taurus, it won't be so cool with all this traveling around the world, visiting impoverished communities and flying planes. Our people like to stay in one place, preferably on the couch.

UPDATE: A New Jolie in June?

A bit belatedly, I came across this Jan. 31 post on Honeymist's Celebs, a Brit blog which I had never checked out before but was very glad to discover. Honeymist quotes a Star magazine report as saying that...

"....Jolie told [director Robert] Rodriguez she wanted to have the baby 'near her birthday,' which is June 6th.

'It was her mom's idea. She's really into astrology and thought it would be great to have a Gemini like me,' the Star spy reports."

Well, there's certainly a bit of pronoun confusion in the above quote, unless the source was Angelina herself -- which seems unlikely as I don't recall the Star donating a bajillion dollars to Haitian orphans last week. But I'm intrigued by the idea of Angelina's mother wanting to make her first biological grandchild into Angie's tiny twin (Gemini, twin ... see what I did there?). I still think June seems late given the size of her bump, but then I'm pretty sure celebrity pregnancies last longer than other people's. This may be because they exist on a higher plane of reality where time warps and refracts. Katie Holmes, in fact, is so enlightened and thetan-free that the duration of her pregnancy may well approach the asymptotic curve of infinity. Um, what was I talking about again?

UPDATE: Angelina's Rumored Due Date

A couple of days ago I vowed to you, loyal readers, to keep tabs on a potential due date for Angelina Jolie. Yesterday the very delightful celebritainment blog The Superficial posted a report that Angie was heard discussing her pregnancy and disclosing a due date of June 4. This report was later updated to note that June 4 is Angelina's own b-day and that that may have been what she was referring to. Now, given that this info was overheard at a restaurant, then reported secondhand, it seems like a great big game of Telephone to me. Despite my best efforts, I often find it difficult to eavesdrop on the conversations of people next to me, and with famous people you have to try even harder to pretend you're not paying attention to them. Plus, that bump is friggin' HUGE for her to be 3 months along. Plus-plus, celebrities always lie about their due dates to throw the media off. So my guess is that Angie was indeed discussing her own Gemini birthday. Anyway, I will explore the astrological ramifications of this possible due date (hello, mini-Angelina!) and continue to scout for other info.

Brangelina's Excellent Adventure

Welcome back to the Celeb Astro-Blog! After a prolonged brief hiatus, we are back in business covering all the happenings in Hollywood and the heavens. Clearly, we must begin with a long overdue analysis of the most explosive chemistry on record in the cosmos: the phenomenon known as Brangelina.

I always think of Sagittarius as the sign of '70s rock songs with lyrics like "Babe, I love you but I've got to ramble on." This is the sign of Birkenstock-wearing, hacky-sack-playing, patchouli-smelling free birds who believe that not believing in monogamy makes them, like, really deep. It is also the sun sign of Brad Pitt, as well as his rising sign and that of his future babymama (though as far as I know, they have yet to confirm they are dating), Angelina Jolie. The Sagittarian influence in their charts goes a long way toward explaining why their life together seems like one sickeningly exciting whirlwind adventure. Angie's Ascendant in the very last degree of Sag is in orb of a conjunction to Brad's sun. This means her image as the globe-trotting, soul-searching Savior of Humanity totally reinforces Brad's Sagittarian ego; no doubt he feels that scoring such an enlightened (not to mention hot) being proves what an old soul he himself is. Sagittarius is the sign of long-distance travel, of foreign cultures and languages, and it is no coincidence that Brad has picked up Angie's habits like flying planes and adopting international children.

With her chart ruler, Jupiter, conjunct her Mars and Moon in Aries, Angelina has a natural enthusiasm for life and a strong independent streak that borders on macho swagger. (Yes, she wears the pants in this family.) This Aries stellium in her 5th house of romance, play and motherhood is constantly sending her to new continents seeking new thrills, not to mention new babies. Brad's Jupiter is also in Aries, making him excited to go along for the ride; his Mars squaring hers means they motivate each other. It also means crazy sexual tension, as if you needed astrology to figure that one out. Angelina's Gemini Sun is near the cusp of Brad's 7th house of relationships; she pretty much fits his image of the perfect partner.

Of course, Gemini and Sagittarius are mutable signs, and dynamics can shift quickly. It will be interesting to see how a new addition to the household changes the astrological balance. Angelina's baby is rumored to be due in May. A late-May due date would mean a Gemini like Angie, while a Taurus born early in May could be in for a vicious struggle for attention with Maddox (born 8/5/01). The Leo who never left his mother's arms for the first 4 years of his life may not take kindly to a biological baby hogging the spotlight. Meanwhile, Zahara (born 1/8/05) is looking like a little Daddy's girl, with Brad's Sun on her Mercury-Venus and his Capricorn Moon-Venus on her Sun forming some loving fatherly bonds. Can't wait to see the new baby's chart. I'll be on the lookout for a due date....
