Finally, here is a birth chart for Larry Birkhead, the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby girl Dannielynn.

As has been noted by a few of you attentive readers, Larry shares a birthday, January 22, with Anna's late son, Daniel Smith. See Anna Nicole Smith's birth chart (Exclusive to CelebAstroBlogy, birth time conjectured) Anna seems to have gone out of her way to delude and misinform Larry about being the father of Dannielynn (and quite possibly about her relationship with Howard K. Stern, whom Anna pals have alleged she was never really interested in romantically).

Dannielynn's Moon, Anna Nicole's Death

Okay, okay, after all this talk about little Dannielynn Birkhead's birth chart, I have updated it with the 4:02 birth time. This does give her a Leo Ascendant, and a Moon-Uranus conjunction in Pisces in the 8th house, which, I completely agree with reader Regina, perfectly depicts mother Anna Nicole Smith: addiction, sudden and unexpected death, possible windfall inheritance with a lot of chaos/volatility surrounding it.

Not unlike little Angel Iris Murphy Brown, Dannielynn has a Saturn-Neptune opposition that describes the confusion surrounding her father's identity. (Neptune in Aquarius opposing Saturn also describes the media attention her now-identified father, Larry Birkhead, is getting.) In Dannielynn's case, though, Saturn and Neptune are forming a T-square with Jupiter: The tug of war over paternity and custody is at odds with her needs for growth and development. She may feel stifled or hampered by a lack of attention and encouragement. (Here's an interesting analysis of Jupiter square Saturn that I could see being dead-on as a description of adult Dannielynn.)

With that Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune T-square, as well as her Sun, Mercury and Venus in self-critical Virgo in the 2nd house, I am a little concerned that Dannielynn will internalize the idea that people care about her only because she is worth money -- and start to identify her own self-worth with her uncertain fortune. Sun and Mercury conjunct the South Node in Virgo in the 2nd house could suggest that she becomes chronically self-doubting and neurotic about trusting people.

And the Sun's opposition to the Moon-Uranus conjunction in Pisces might foreshadow some erratic, self-medicating behavior not unlike her mother's. Chiron is conjunct the 7th house cusp from the 6th house, so self-destructive relationships could be one way she acts out or abuses her body.

With Jupiter in Scorpio in the 4th house, she certainly stands a chance of inheriting and living off her mother's estate -- but with the Saturn-Neptune T-square, it will be an uphill battle with some false turns.

I feel bad for Dannielynn having her identity shaped by such traumatic events (Sun opposite Moon-Uranus) and hope that Larry Birkhead proves to be a truly loving, supportive and loyal dad rather than a money and publicity hound. Saturn in the 1st shows her father will be an important formative influence, which could go either way. The comparison of their two charts will have to wait for another day, though... Stay tuned!

What Was Anna Nicole Smith's Rising Sign?

After doing many reports on the late Anna Nicole Smith's astrological chart, for which no birth time is available, I can't help but speculate on what a birth chart including an accurate time might look like. Prompted by a dream in which Anna's birth time was revealed to me, only to elude me when I awoke (yes indeed, gentle readers, I desperately need a celebrintervention, for I also had a dream featuring Anna's baby daughter Danniellyn this weekend), I have taken it upon my cuckoo-crazy self to speculate on Anna's complete natal horoscope.

The hypothetical birth time I like for Anna Nicole is 12:45 PM CST on November 28, 1967, in Mexia, Texas. (Although even Anna's birthplace is in doubt, since her mom says she was not actually from Mexia, Texas, but from Houston, and pretended to be a small-town girl for the sake of her image.) Here's why.

Pisces rising describes Anna's image as a sex symbol -- back in her Guess? days, she had those windows-to-the-soul eyes that reflect a Piscean Ascendant. Anna's dreamy, off-in-her-own-world quality and the widespread perception of her as a drug addict are also consistent with the Pisces rising sign.

But besides being a bombshell, Anna Nicole was also a frail, insecure woman with a yo-yo relationship with her body. The 12:45 birth time describes this dichotomy, positing Chiron in Pisces in Anna's 1st house of surface appearance and physical body -- which describing her self-destructive tendencies, body struggles, and lack of self-acceptance, even in the face of her Piscean mystique and allure.

Of course, we would expect Anna's true horoscope to paint the warts-and-all picture of her relationships with men, including her potentially lucrative marriage to the elderly J. Howard Marshall as well as her possibly fateful partnership with the sketchy Howard K. Stern. With the 12:45 birth time, Anna has a Moon-Venus conjunction in Libra, sign of partnership, in the 8th house of shared resources. This placement would describe not only the way Anna plunged all-or-nothing into her relationships with men but also the undercurrent of machinations for financial interests (Venus in the 8th). The manipulative dynamics rumored to be operative both in Anna's relationship with her late husband and -- with the shoe on the other foot -- in her coupling with Howard K. both fit with the 8th-house placement.

Meanwhile, Jupiter right on the cusp of the 7th house of partnership shows the fortune that she amassed by virtue of her marriage to a billionaire -- while the Uranus-Pluto conjunction there suggests the power struggles and unpredictable ups-and-downs in her relationships.

Gemini/Sagittarius on the IC/MC shows an unstable home/family life and an aspiration toward stardom. And Mars in Capricorn in the 11th house depicts an ambitious social climber.

This chart would place the transiting Sun-Neptune conjunction at the time of her death in the self-destructive 12th house along with Chiron. Meanwhile the overdose-prone Mercury-Venus-Uranus conjunction in Pisces would be foregrounded in her 1st house, with Mercury conjunct the Ascendant. The transiting Scorpio Moon would be in Anna's 8th house, which also represents death.

Event Chart: The Death of Anna Nicole Smith

Here is an astrological chart, based on the best available reports, for the death of Anna Nicole Smith.

The exact time of her death may remain a mystery, judging from anecdotal eyewitness accounts that Anna's body was already covered when paramedics brought her to the hospital, but this chart reflects the officially reported time of 2:10 EST in the Hollywood, FL, hospital where Anna was pronounced dead. The chart will be updated if better information is made available.

Interestingly, the Sun and Neptune in the death chart are conjunct at 19° Aquarius, the same degree as Marilyn Monroe's Moon.

One thing that jumped out at me about this chart was the presence of Pluto in an almost exact conjunction with the 7th-house cusp (representing relationships), suggesting the sinister or underhanded influence of a partner in the death.

Also, Venus, the planet of love and money, is conjunct volatile Uranus in self-destructive Pisces on the Midheaven, representing goals and ambitions.

Could Howard K. Stern have had a hand in his pseudo-wife's untimely demise in order to further his own financial ends?

Was Anna Nicole's Death Accidental?

The unsettling yet sadly unsurprising news that Anna Nicole Smith is dead has hardly sunken in. But already, all manner of theories have been floated, many by me. Did Anna OD accidentally? Did Howard K. Stern do her in (and fake fathering daughter Dannielynn) to get his hands on her ex-hubby's money? Did she die of a broken heart over son Daniel's death? Her astrological chart may provide some glimpses of insight into this predictable yet mysterious tragedy.

In November, when Anna was hospitalized, allegedly for flu-like symptoms, I warned of transiting Neptune's influence, creating a dreamy, escapist, fantasy-world mentality as it squared her Mercury. {Full story}At the time of her death*, the Sun was almost exactly conjunct Neptune, in an almost exact square to her Mercury. This speaks to an urge to blot out consciousness, and what may have been a confused miscalculation about self-medicating.

The transiting Sun and Neptune are trining Anna's Venus, adding to the picture of a self-indulgent illusion.

Transiting Saturn in Leo is within 2 1/2° of an opposition to the Sun-Neptune conjunction, forming a T-square with Anna's Mercury. Obviously, this represents the harsh limit to Anna's escapist mentality -- and to her ambition for the spotlight.

Pluto is also squaring Anna's Uranus ... could dark, conspiratorial forces be operating under the surface? Or does this represent the demons stirring under the surface of Anna's plastic facade for so long?

I wish I had Anna's exact time of birth and death, but so far the picture, cloudy though Neptune makes it, seems to suggest more an accidental overdose for someone who had been living in a fog too long, than a calculated plot.

More on this complex tale soon ... we haven't gotten to the bottom of this by any means. Even before Anna's death I had intended to do a reading for her sketchy partner Howard, and now that insight may be even more crucial. Stay tuned....

It is sad but, poignantly, not altogether shocking to report that Anna Nicole Smith (seen at left with her late son Daniel) was pronounced dead today in Hollywood, Florida, at 3:45 PM. A full analysis of transits to Anna's astrological chart will follow soon.

As readers of CelebAstroBlogy will recall, warning signs were evident both in Anna's horoscope and her habits. Just a couple of months ago, an analysis of her transit chart turned up disturbing hints of a troubling escapist mentality:

All I'm saying is that transiting Neptune has been squaring Anna Nicole's Mercury for many moons now, and there is definitely an escapist mentality dominating her consciousness, or rather semiconsciousness. Anna appears to be looking to blot out reality or already living in a dream world. With Saturn squaring Neptune, further reality checks could be handed to Anna Nicole if she doesn't get her act together and take her own initiative to get back in touch with the real world. That said, if a hospitalization, possible deportation and above all her son Daniel's death don't serve as wake-up calls, I'm not sure what will. {Full story}

TMZ reports that Anna Nicole was already dead by the time paramedics arrived on the scene to bring her to the hospital { Source}, so the official time of death does not actually reflect the moment her spirit left the world. If any readers find details pointing to the precise moment Anna may have passed, please email me or post a comment. (And please spare me your hate mail telling me I'm a creepy ghoul. The goal here is to gain some insight, not to rubberneck, okay?)

Astrology and the Anna Nicole Saga, Part III: Neptune and Anna's Hospitalization

Not since the days of Oedipus Rex or at least Melrose Place has such a twisted family drama unfolded in the public eye. But this is no fictional or archetypal tale; the saga of Anna Nicole Smith and her loved ones and lackeys is definitely filed under Y for "You can't make this stuff up, people." Just as almost five minutes had passed without Anna doing anything scandalous or bizarre, she ended up in the hospital—according to her lawyer, for a bout of alleged "pneumonia" brought on by a "cold snap." {Source} Oh, okay. Because, you know, those "cold snaps" in the Bahamas can really be brutal. What?!

Now, I am not a doctor. But judging from a look at the transits to Anna Nicole's astrological chart, there are reasons to suspect that she was felled by more than germs.

Right now, retrograde Mercury in Scorpio joins Jupiter in conjuncting Anna Nicole's natal Neptune. Feel-good Jupiter passing over Neptune, the planet associated with addiction and delusion, can invite a tendency to self-medicate and escape reality. There's not a lot of self-control involved where Jupiter is concerned. Saturn is moving into an exact square with her Neptune, generating feelings of confusion, stress and lack of direction (and potential health problems). Anna feels like she has been floundering, and may be gratifying all her urges six ways till Sunday in order to avoid confronting harsh reality. Factor in the element of miscalculation associated with Mercury retrograde and two letters of the alphabet come to mind: O and D.

Again, I am not a doctor, and I have not "treated" Anna Nicole, and it would certainly be spurious to suggest that her hospital stay was prompted by, say, a cocktail of prescription and/or nonprescription drugs ingested under the care of a sleazy lawyer rather than a doctor. All I'm saying is that transiting Neptune has been squaring Anna Nicole's Mercury for many moons now, and there is definitely an escapist mentality dominating her consciousness, or rather semiconsciousness. Anna appears to be looking to blot out reality or already living in a dream world. With Saturn squaring Neptune, further reality checks could be handed to Anna Nicole if she doesn't get her act together and take her own initiative to get back in touch with the real world. Astrology and the Anna Nicole Saga, Part II: Anna's Baby Daughter's Birth Chart

In the first installment of the Anna Nicole Smith astrological saga, we looked at the birth chart of Daniel Smith, her recently deceased son. Now it's time to take a peek at the natal horoscope of his younger (half-)sister, born just three days before his death on September 7, 2006, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. (Now, I know Anna Nicole was grieving and wanted to pay tribute to her son and all, but Dannielynn? Really? She couldn't have just gone with Danielle?)

The first thing that jumps out at me about this chart is the Saturn-Neptune opposition, describing the cloud of confusion or deception (Neptune) around the baby's father (Saturn). Of course, presumably not every child born under this configuration requires a paternity test (or Maury Povich sure will have his hands full this season), so it would be interesting to see where this aspect falls in her chart. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any report on the birth that includes a birth time... anyone? Anyone?

With four planets in mutable Virgo, this child may be prone to having a nervous, anxious temperament and to manifest psychological stress through physical health issues. Her Sun-Uranus opposition could make Dannielynn an unstable, volatile personality. While her birth time is unknown, it would not surprise me if the sunrise chart shown here, with the Moon conjunct Uranus, is not far off. The Moon describes the mother, and the dreamy Neptune-ruled Pisces Moon certainly evokes Anna Nicole's in-a-fog persona. A conjunction to Uranus would describe Anna's unpredictable behavior.

The sunrise chart places Saturn in the 12th house of self-undoing and hidden enemies. If this birth time were indeed in the ballpark, it could suggest some behind-the-scenes machinations on the part of her father (or father figure) who is secretly working to undermine her. Whether or not photog Larry Birkhead (who, as ever-astute reader Pluto pointed out, may well share a birthday, though not year, with the late Daniel Smith) is the baby's (sorry, I just can't keep typing that damn name and counting the l's and n's every time) biological father, Saturn may well represent Howard K. Stern, who is effectively entrenched as her father figure since his putative retroactive-shotgun wedding to Anna Nicole. (Plus, "stern" is one of the Saturn keywords.) Does Saturn's opposition to Neptune in Aquarius (public deception or confusion) and square to Jupiter in Scorpio represent an attempt by Stern to lay claim to his partner's assets (Scorpio) by pulling the wool over the public's eyes with regard to Baby D's paternity?

Stay tuned; this isn't over yet... we haven't even looked at Anna's chart for hints as to whether she is complicit with said deception, out of touch with reality, or both. As always, if you have any birth data about any of the parties involved, please share!

Astrology and the Anna Nicole Saga, Part I: Daniel Smith's Birth Chart

There is so much mystery surrounding the death of Daniel Smith, son of Anna Nicole, that a look at his astrological chart seemed in order. Of course, one post is not possibly enough to analyze all the nutty-cuckoo dynamics at play, but here is a brief look at Daniel's birth chart and the transits surrounding his death.

On the date of his death, September 10, 2006, transiting retrograde Chiron, the "wounded healer," was approaching a conjunction to Daniel's Sun-Venus in Aquarius and squaring his Nodes. Perhaps this describes the fact that the drugs found in Daniel's system, which eventually killed him—methadone and antidepressants—were intended to treat him rather than poison him.

Without knowing his birth time, it's not possible to say for sure, but I wonder if Daniel's Gemini Moon (representing the emotions and the mother) might be at or around 17-18°... since drugs were involved with his death, it would not be a surprise to see an aspect from transiting Neptune to the Moon. The Moon also represents one's perception of the mother, so a Neptune aspect could perhaps describe his mother's role in facilitating his addictive or self-medicating behavior.

This may sound like a copout, but without a birth time, this horoscope leaves a lot of unanswered questions about what was going on for Daniel at the time of his untimely demise.
