Also
known as the Ascendant or rising sign, the first house shows the
image you project to others, your outward personality and the
face you want to show the world, as well as representing your
birth or entry into the world, your body image, and your physical
appearance. People who don't "seem like their sign" are often
projecting a rising sign that hides a different interior or merges
in a distinctive way with the qualities of the person's sun sign.
The rising sign is not, however, just a "surface" part of the
personality -- the planet ruling your rising sign and its placement
play a tremendous role in defining your identity needs. Planets
in this house have a spontaneous, assertive Aries quality, and
